History
Guy Okazaki has
been shaping and surfing fine tuned surfboards for decades. His custom
designs are hand crafted precision works of art. These skills were
handed down from his father, starting in Hawaii and moving to California.
In Venice, CA, Guy met Dewey Weber and Harold Iggy at their little shop on
the beach. This led to part time employment with Weber Surfboards
until their move inland.

In the late 60s
it was back to Hawaii to attend the University of Hawaii and surf the epic
winter of 1969/70. This period was the revolution of the shortboard,
from 1966-67 on to the early 1970s, some of the best shapers were
designing in Hawaii. |

Soon the buzz from Nat Young (also from the Dewey days) and the
mantra from Robert August via the Endless Summer was Oz. So, Guy was
off to Australia and the area around Kirra. There he met Joe Larkin
and his team of Michael Peterson and Peter Townsend. The Aussies
were riding short wide and fast, in contrast to the Hawaiians long narrow
and fast. Everyone was going so fast, that would ignite a passion to
design a better surfboard utilizing all the styles for the different
conditions.

Upon his return to California to start a
career, Guy's friends and surf buddies kept asking for the kind of
equipment that he had created from his surfing experiences. Guy
continues to create, innovate, and forward search for that faster design. |
